Kickoff Benefit for NOLA Gold Rugby Foundation
The event will be co-hosted by former player John Goodman and NOLA Gold Rugby. Keynote Speaker for the benefit will be Lt. Governor Billy Nungessar.
The Foundation will establish a Corporate Social Responsibility platform for NOLA Gold Rugby. We will engage underserved young people in our community by providing trained coaches and equipment to youth sports programs throughout the region. Through supporting effective sports-based youth development programs we will teach young people leadership, discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, professionalism and perseverance - all keys to success in rugby and life.
In addition, we have partnered with Louisiana Children’s Medical Center and West Jeff Medical Center to help provide mental and physical health support. We have a partnership with Louisiana Air National Guard with an opportunity for 100% college tuition reimbursement. NOLA Gold Rugby Academy has been established as a pathway to train and potentially become a professional athlete. We are working with Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, a global leader in youth sports programming, to help establish clearly defined social impact goals and outcomes.
The city of New Orleans and NOLA Gold Rugby Foundation is a pilot model program for the establishment of the Major League Rugby Foundation and will work to expand this initiative to all MLR cities.
